Days #55-57

Sorry for the delay.

Here we go.

I'll start with day 56 cause they're my favorites.

And the other two days. Not too great.

I've been taking pictures each day, just haven't had a chance to upload them yet. Soon...

Day #54: PHP, HTML, Etc.

No time for shooting today. I've spent any time not at the pool coding a website that is supposed to go up this weekend. So here are some photographs (not screen captures) of some of the code from the site.

Day #53: Fondant

So today was the release of StarCraft II, which caused much excitement with my brother among others. So we had to have a release party of course. Now, of course, this means making a cake and meal, playing chess, and absolutely no playing StarCraft.

But this was my first attempt at fondant, and it turned out pretty well.

Here's a shot.

And here's a shot after we got "creative" with the fondant.

Day #52: Walking On Water, Amongst Others

There once was a very special girl, who could walk on water.

52/365: Walking On Water

There once was a very special girl whose eyes reflected all things and this made her very wise.

But then, reality kicked in, and the water gave way...

52/365: Walking On Water, Part 2

...and...well...even the wise need some down time.

Day #50: Who's Out There?

Still playing around with this HDR stuff. It's really interesting.

I also like the composition of this shot.

Day #49: The Cosmos

"The Ancient Japanese considered the Go board to be a microcosm of the universe. Although when it is empty it appears to be simple and ordered, in fact, the possibilities of gameplay are endless. They say that no two Go games have ever been alike. Just like snowflakes. So, the Go board actually represents an extremely complex and chaotic universe."

I have no idea how to play Go. Tried today and then we couldn't figure out how to score the game. So I made a nice pattern and took pictures.

49/365: The Cosmos

I played with HDR some more today.

49/365: Go And HDR

Bye now.

Day #48: HDR

I've been messing around with HDR and tone mapping lately.

Basically HDR and tone-mapping together allow you to up the range of your photo. For example, in this photo, normally you would be able to either see the sky really well and the trees would be just silhouettes or else the trees would be exposed properly and the sky would be over-exposed to white. With HDR, you combine multiple exposures to get both.

I don't quite have it down yet, but I'm getting some interesting results and practice makes perfect.

Whachya think?

Day #47: Work

I've been working pretty much all day, so I didn't get a chance to get out and shoot at all. Therefore, I shot a picture of part of what I'm working on.

Meet entries!

Don't take.

Day #46: Mostly Faces And Eyes

I really like today's pictures.

I like the eyes especially.

46/365: Quirky Face

46/365: Blue Eyes

Don't use the photos without my explicit permission.

Day #45: Failed Attempt

So, here's the deal. It's cool to set the camera on the rear-board and/or dashboard of the car and open the shutter and leave it open all the drive home. You're supposed to get something like this (this is an old picture from a while ago).

The Story of My Drive Home, Told In Light

Sadly, I've gotten a new car since then, and my camera just won't stay on the dashboard. And it's not safe to have one hand on the dash trying to hold it there.

So here's the only thing remotely interesting that I got.

45/365: Failed Attempt

So to make you happy, I'll post some older photos from recent days that weren't posted because they weren't the best.

45/365: Oldies

Please don't steal my crappy photo or the better ones.

Day #43: Misty Moisty Morning

It was pretty misty this morning. I need to get out and shoot some more macro and stuff. But it's been pretty rainy lately.

So what do you think?

Day #42: UFO's! Really!

Here it is folks. Real proof that UFO's are real! I was outside doing my daily photo when all of a sudden a UFO streaked through the air. Unfortunately, my camera's auto focus was turned off, so the pictures are a little blurry, but you can CLEARLY see that there is no other explanation than extra-terrestrial activity!

These two photos were taken within one second of each-other, so you can see how fast the ship was moving!

If you need further proof, the spacecraft landed, and I was able to get a shot of the pilot by being extra-stealthy. Unfortunately, I only got one because he heard my camera's shutter click and bolted back to the ship and took off. What an experience.

I wouldn't be surprised if I the New York Times itself requests an exclusive interview with me, so please don't steal the photos. I'll probably make a lot of money from them!

Day #41: Small Shoes

Just one shot today. I took these early this morning, and I like the way the light was, but I think I like the color selective version best with just the dots in color.

41/365: The Colors Of Summer

Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.

Day #40: Abstract?

Think what you will. Maybe it's an inkblot like test?

If you see a message telling you to steal these pictures, do so.

Day #39: Happy Birthday Joseph!

Today was my brother, Joseph's, 14th birthday!

Don't steal from him (or me).

Day #38: HDR and Stuff

Here we go. I was out running an errand, and came across this waterfall by the colonnade. Pretty cool.

Don't steal. Ben, that means you.

Day 37: A Plethora Of Random Shots

Ok, so the first one up today is a cute little dog.

Dogs are cute, right. So is this one. Notice the tennis ball in his mouth?

37/365: Taking A Break

Next up, is a full-frame shot I really like of Old Glory.

37/365: Old Glory

And now, our lovely flag with boxers, yes boxers, hoisted up next to it. I didn't do it. I just found it and documented it.

37/365: Stars and Stripes and Stripes?

And now, we have a nice shot to ooh and aah over.

Ooohhh Aaahhh.
